The Sydney Jones Library opened for service in 1976. It was extended in 2007 by annexing the former University administration building, now the Abercromby Wing, and refurbishing the original building, now the Grove Wing.
The Sydney Jones Library is the University's main Arts and Humanities library and is adjacent to the School of the Arts. The Sydney Jones is open 24 hours a day during term time and provides hundreds of individual study spaces, as well small-group study rooms and break-out areas.
Aug 17, 2020 · Sydney Jones Library reopens to staff and students. Following the successful reopening of study spaces in the Harold Cohen Library at the start of this month, we are now delighted to reopen a limited number of bookable study spaces in the Sydney Jones Library for University staff and students.
