Both the Sumerian King List and the Tummal Chronicle state he was the son of Gilgamesh , but only the Sumerian King List records he was the father of Udul-kalama .

According to the Sumerian King List, Gilgamesh ruled the city of Uruk for 126 years. After his reign, he was succeeded by Ur-Nungal. ilgamesh was the fifth king of the ancient Sumerian city of Uruk and a son of the hero Lugalbanda and goddess Ninsun.
