Jan 14, 2024 · 1389 May 19. Reign of Vasily I of Moscow. Moscow, Russia. Vasily I Dmitriyevich was the Grand Prince of Moscow, heir of Dmitry Donskoy. He ruled as a Golden Horde vassal between 1389 and 1395, and again in 1412–1425.
According to the chronicles, Maria married the Russian noble Vasily Mikhailovich [ ru], the prince of Vereya, in approximately 1480, but the two escaped into exile to Lithuania in 1483 due to an incident involving the jewels of Maria of Tver, the former grand princess of Moscow.
