   What is Via Roma?

   • Via Roma is an important thoroughfare linking Porta Nuova railway station and Piazza Castello. It is the main shopping street of Turin with a range of high end stores. The original section is of modernist 1930's style and was created by architect Marcello Piacentini. It is an impressive street and was almost deserted during my visit in July 2020.

   What to do in Turin?

   • One of the most important streets in the historical center of Turin, Via Roma runs through the beautiful Piazza San Carlo, connects the Piazza Castello with the station at Porta Nuova and is lined with lots of expensive clothing boutiques. We spent some good time wandering up and down the street and did some "window shopping" meanwhile.

It starts on Piazza Castello and ends at Piazza Carlo Felice. it is the most elegant shopping area in Turin, with famous brand shops and boutiques on both sides. Dating back to the 16th century, it is lined by old, but nicely remodeled buildings.
