The Canadian War Museum is located at 1 Vimy Place, on LeBreton Flats, at the corner of Booth Street and the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway, west of Parliament Hill. The Museum is easily accessible from downtown Ottawa by foot, bicycle, public transit, Aqua-Taxi (summer) or car and offers on-site parking.
Monday to Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to Sunday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Exceptions. Thursdays, July 4 and 11, 2024: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours subject to change. Statutory holidays falling within this period follow the above hours of operation.

Apr 29, 2010 · The Canadian War Museum, Canada's national museum of military history, was opened in 2005 on the south bank of the Ottawa River. The museum, originally begun in 1880 as an informal collection of military artifacts, was moved in 1967 to an archives building on Sussex Drive with most of the collection stored off-site.
