Apr 1, 2021 · Stewart Beach and East Beach have clearly marked entrances, but West Beach is a long strip of sand on the Galveston public beach map. We finally decided to just figure out this beach. So we drove down Seawall (away from East Beach) and saw a lot of signs for "Beach Access".

Being farther down past the seawall, West Beach is a treasure in itself. You can park nearby, but not on the beach, so it is open and clear of cars. It is more secluded because of this so if you are okay with a little walk you can find your piece of sandy paradise away from the crowds.

Dec 8, 2023 · West Beach offers a great combination of hiking and relaxing at the beach. The trails are varied and encompass many habitats. There are great views from the top of the Dune Succession Trail stairs, a beautiful pinery of jack pines, birding opportunities along Long Lake and secluded sections of forest. After hiking, relax and swim at the beach.
