If your livebox plays up it's worth doing the factory reset as orange customer services might talk you through doing it before they try other avenues.
Jan 10, 2009 · The phone detects the network but wont connect even though I enter the password correctly (done it and checked it too many times to mention) and set the livebox in 'pairing mode' by pressing the number 1 button.

You need to type 192.168.1.1 into your browser bar and this takes you to your Livebox configuration page. Click on the My WiFi tab and then enter the password (which is now the first 8 digits of the security key).
