Aug 29, 2023 · While Instagram is easy to use, there are features and tools to help you get even more out of Instagram. These handy tips and tricks will help you discover more things to do on Instagram. 1. Get Post Notifications From People You Follow
- Turn photos or Stories into Reels. While Instagram used to be a photo-sharing app only, video is the new queen. Videos on Instagram have an average engagement rate of 1.5% (it doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is!)
- Test a viral editing hack. Sometimes, all you want is a traditional, perfect-looking insta-worthy photo. But we’re not all Photoshop experts, and while there’s a ton of free and easy apps you can use to edit photos from Instagram, there’s also photo editing software built into your smartphone.
- Customize your Story links. The easiest way to point your Instagram followers to a specific page on a different platform (for example, your personal blog e-commerce website) is to add a link to your Instagram story.
- Post a detailed photo dump. Photo dumps, invented and perfected by Gen Z (but, in a way, truly discovered by your aunt on Facebook who doesn’t know the meaning of the word “curation”) are one of Instagram’s newest—and dare we say, most charming—trends.
- Professional Dashboard. Launched in January 2021, Instagram’s Professional Dashboard feature allows you to track your performance, access professional resources, and grow your business You can get insights on how your business is interacting with your followers as well as what time you may want to gear your posts based on when your audience is online.
- Live Rooms. Launched in March 2021, Live Rooms allows more than one account to participate in the same Instagram Live session. Go live with your teammates or colleagues, influencers, other businesses, vendors, or even your customers.
- Remix Reels. Have you ever been perusing on Reels and thought, “Hmmm, I could do this better?” Or wished you could share your thoughts on what’s going on in a particular reel?
- Stories caption stickers. Also in April 2021, caption stickers for Stories were introduced, which automatically turns what you say into text.

If you are someone who is posting the same picture on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, or any other social media website for that matter, instead of posting pictures on each website individually, you can set up your Instagram in such a way that whenever you post a picture on Instagram, that picture is automatically posted on all your other social media accounts.
