- Chiaia. One of the safest areas to stay in Naples is the affluent district of Chiaia. This region south of the Spanish Quarter is the epitome of luxury and style, making it the perfect area for a luxurious romantic getaway.
- Vomero. Vomero is a charming hilly district near Chaia and Quartieri Spagnoli and offers a more authentic experience of Napoli. This upper-class residential area is a bit further from the city center, making it the perfect place if you’re looking to avoid the noise and large crowds.
- Spanish Quarter. The Quartieri Spagnoli, named after the Spanish Garrisons that were once stationed here, is one of the most authentic areas in Naples. This district sitting on either side of the bustling Via Toledo is not as affluent and not as safe late at night.

- Rione Sanità. Once considered the healthiest district of Naples, Rione Sanità (sanità is health in Italian) seems today a bit down on its heels and is characterized by street art, market stalls, traffic, and the sense of day-to-day chaos so typical of much of Naples.

The best neighboroods to stay in Naples with the family. If you are travelling with your family, staying in the Piazza del Plebiscito area is probably the ideal choice. Staying there, you would be within walking distance of the Mergellina promenade, then the Villa Comunale and the Castel dell'Ovo.
