    The Rough Ridge trail is one of the easiest hiking trails on the entire route. It’s less than a mile in length and the views of North Carolina’s High Country from the end make for incredible Instagram shots!

    Those that are looking for a similar, short hike, but want things to be a little more challenging, would much prefer Beacon Heights instead. This is also just one mile, but it’s a lot steeper than Rough Ridge, from the top, you get a front and center view of Grandfather Mountain that you can’t get anywhere else.

    If you’re someone that likes waterfalls, the cascades waterfalls is the perfect place to be. It’s a two-mile hike to the top, but it’s very gradual and you’re constantly surrounded by the most serene and beautiful views. When you finally make it to the top of the cascades, you’re gifted with a stunning 250-foot waterfall.

    This is a must-see for anyone that wants to experience the Blue Ridge Parkway at its finest. The Thunder Hill Overlook is one of the highest points on the route and gives you a 180 view of the gorgeous Appalachian Mountains. It’s one of the best points to stop at during the entire route and watch the sunrise or the sunset!

    The Grandfather Mountain Swinging Bridge is one of the most popular attractions on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s a 228-foot suspension bridge that sways 80 feet above the ground and gives you incredible views of the mountains. It’s also the only privately-owned attraction on the parkway, so definitely make sure to stop by!
