The age cut off date for the sport of volleyball is JULY 1st. That means that if you turn 14 before July 1st, you are officially a U14 player even if you are a 7th grader. A player with a bad birthday is known as a grade level or age waiver player. Age waiver players must play up if they want to play on a National team.
