In a nutshell, the films themselves are, from a technical standpoint, not terrible and at points pretty effective; all the problems are from a story standpoint. The main love triangle is basically a master class in unhealthy relationships.
I honestly almost wish Twilight had been a series. The movie took out so many things and changed things from the book. While I know this is normal for movies to do, it just made the characters seem less than what they were. Like the back stories were just glazed over, Alice could have a whole movie just on her, so could Rosalie.
