Mar 26, 2024 · Select the photo or video that you want to unhide. Control-click the photo, then choose Unhide Photo. You can also choose Image > Unhide Photo from the menu bar, or press Command-L. If your photos or videos won’t sync to iCloud Photos on your device, find out how to check the status of your photo library and what to do if you see a status message.
On your iPhone or iPad
1.Open the Photos app. 2.In the Library tab, tap All Photos. 3.Scroll to the bottom to see the status bar.
On your Mac
1.Open the Photos app. 2.Select Library in the Photos sidebar. 3.Click All Photos in the toolbar at the top of the window, then scroll to the bottom.
If you see Saving Mobile Data or Low Mobile Data Mode
iCloud Photos will automatically pause syncing until you’re connected to Wi-Fi for a variety of reasons. If this happens, you may see a status message and the option to Sync Now. To sync your photos to iCloud, tap Sync Now. Or turn off Low Data Mode.
If you see Saving Battery Power or Low Power Mode
iCloud Photos will temporarily pause syncing if your device is on Low Power Mode To sync your photos to iCloud, you can charge your device’s battery, turn off Low Power Mode or tap Sync Now next to the status message.
If you see Waiting to Sync
If you see a status message that says Waiting to Sync, make sure your device is connected to the internet and wait a few minutes for the sync to finish.
Connect your device to a power source
If your device seems to be stuck on a status message that says Syncing [number of items] to iCloud or Syncing with iCloud…, connect your iPhone or iPad to a power source and to a Wi-Fi network.
Check your Apple ID
Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with the correct Apple ID on your device. Find out how to sign in to iCloud
Check which Library view you’re in
If you’ve set up iCloud Shared Photo Library in iOS 16.1 or later, iPadOS 16.1 or later, or macOS Ventura or later, check which Library view you’re in. When you move photos to your Shared Library, you’ll no longer see them in your Personal Library. You also won’t see photos moved to your Shared Library if you’re on a device with an earlier version of iOS, iPadOS or macOS or if the iCloud Shared Photo Library owner has run out of iCloud storage. Make sure iCloud Photos is turned on. iCloud Photos securely stores all of your photos and videos in iCloud, so you can access them on all of your devices. If you've taken a photo on your iPhone with iCloud Photos turned on but later turned the feature off, you may still be able to find a missing photo in iCloud Photos. On your iPhone or iPad
- Force iCloud Photos Sync. Sometimes iCloud Photos synchronization is paused because your device is trying to do you a favor by conserving battery life, waiting for a stable Wi-Fi connection, or dedicating all processing power to a more important task.
- Check Whether iCloud Photos Synchronization Is Enabled. There’s a chance that iCloud Photos synchronization has been turned off on your device, either accidentally or as a result of a system update gone wrong.
- Make Sure Your Internet Connection Is Working. Cloud services, like iCloud Photos, rely heavily on a robust Internet connection. If your photos are lagging behind in the sync department, there’s a good chance your Internet connection may be to blame.
- Connect Your Device to a Charger. When your device is running low on juice, it tends to make some tough decisions to preserve its remaining battery life.
- Check the Sync Status in Photos. The first thing to do when you're having trouble with iCloud Photos syncing is to check the sync status in the Photos app.
- Make Sure iCloud Photos Is Activated. If your photos aren't syncing, it's possible that iCloud Photos is not enabled on your Mac. As it's an optional feature provided by Apple's iCloud service, it's not activated automatically.
- Use the Same Apple ID on All Devices. If you use multiple Apple accounts, you must verify that your Mac is signed in with the same Apple ID used on the other devices you wish to sync photos with.
- Check Your Internet Connection. Your photos may not be syncing to and from iCloud due to a lack of internet connectivity. Successful synchronization relies on both your iPhone (or whatever Apple device you're taking pictures on) and your Mac being connected to a stable network—preferably Wi-Fi on your phone if you've got a limited data allowance.

The best way to troubleshoot it is to look at the status message in the Photos app. To check, open the Photos app and select Library from the sidebar.
