Wikipedia's "notability" doesn't mean "importance" but is rather jargon for "is the in-depth subject of enough reliable, third-party secondary sources to write a decent encyclopedia article"—the test is really whether a decent article can be written on a subject. In turn, the best way to show that the sources exist is to cite them in the draft!
