  3. Grades 321 is the basic 18/8 austenitic steel (Grade 304) stabilised with Titanium. This grade is not sensitive to intergranular corrosion after heating within the carbide precipitation range of 425-850°C. 321 is the grade of choice for applications in the temperature range of up to about 900°C, combining high strength, resistance to scaling ...

  5. Type 321 is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel similar to type 304 but with a titanium addition. This titanium addition reduces or prevents carbide precipitation during welding and in 800 - 1500 °F (427 - 816 °C) service. It also improves the elevated temperature properties of the alloy.

  6. 321 stainless is a titanium stabilized grade commonly used for service in the 1000-1600°F temperature range. For service temperatures up to about 1600°F, a stabilizing treatment at 1550-1650°F, air cool, may be used to provide optimum resistance to intergranular corrosion and to polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking.

  7. Chromium Physical Properties Yield 0.2 % ( ksi/Mpa), Min Carbon Tensile (ksi/Mpa), Min Manganese Elongation ( % in 50mm ), Min Alloy 321 is also known as stabilized austentic alloy due to its titanium content, this addition prevents carbide precipitation during welding following exposure to temperature range from 800 to 1500° F.

  8. Overview. General Properties. Alloy 321 (UNS S32100) is a titanium stabilized austenitic stainless steel with good general corrosion resistance. It has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800 – 1500°F (427 – 816°C).
