The army does not have fighter planes, but they do have transport planes. The navy has planes as well. All fixed wing aircraft that carry army service members are piloted and owned by the air force.
I have to admit that this question gave me a good chuckle! When I thought about it, and all of the things that I could say in response (but had better leave out of print) came to mind, that chuckle turned into outright laughter.
