Jun 9, 2023 · The 2-5-1 (ii7-V7-I) Gospel Transition. The first thing we’ll add is a ii 7 -V 7 -I transition right before the C (IV) chord. Think of this as “setting up” that C chord. To do this, we’ll modulate (change keys) into C Major temporarily. In C Major, ii 7 is Dm 7 and V 7 is G7.
The styles covered in this lesson are related to the earlier lesson on “Gospel Time Signatures” where we discuss the meters 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, and 12/8.
