CENTRAL VISAYAS. Central Visayas, officially designated as Region VII, is an administrative region in the Philippines occupying the central section of the Visayas. It covers 4 provinces, namely, Bohol , Cebu , Negros Oriental, and Siquijor. Comprising these provinces are 16 cities, 3 of which are highly urbanized and the rest are component cities.
Administratively, the Visayas is divided into 3 regions, namely Western Visayas, Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas. Each region is headed by a Regional Director who is elected from a pool of governors from the different provinces in each region. The Visayas is composed of 16 provinces, each headed by a Governor.
