Minecraft has been out for over a decade, and each new update adds a bunch of extra items and tools to use. Even with so many new items, some tools are timeless and will forever be useful, like the pickaxe. Without these items, Minecraft would have a basic building system, and luckily, you get to experience so much more.
You know, it's one of those "there are two types of people" things. In honestly enjoy the early game. punching tree, getting set up. But I kinda don't see the point in grinding in SSP to get a huge grinder providing me with enough resources for 100 players, when I'm playing alone.

While its not less than 5 years new, imo it does fit the "good for at least the next 10-15 years" criteria. Minecraft already is a timeless classic.
