The 5,506-foot mountain town is one of our favorite places in the High Country, thanks to fun annual events, great food, and more!

Unfortunately, they only had 1 fishing rod/gear for our party of 4 because the others had been signed out and hadn't been returned yet (even though they had already gone past the 2 hour allotted time frame).

Sep 11, 2023 · Beech Mountain in NC is a lesser-known area, but worth adding to your bucket list! There are fun activities all year round. From skiing at Beech Mountain Ski Resort to walking the yellow brick road at the Land of Oz theme park, there are attractions for all ages. These are only two of the great activities available in this mountain town.

- Lake Coffey. For those who enjoy or would love to try their hand at fishing, Beech Mountain is a great destination. One of the best spots for fishing here is Lake Coffey, one of the lakes that are annually stocked with fish by the Wildlife Resources Commission.
