Charles Bridge (Czech: Karlův most [ˈkarluːf ˈmost] ⓘ) is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the early 15th century.

Dec 18, 2023 · Until 1841, Charles Bridge was the only communication link across the Vltava River in Prague. In 1870, the bridge was officially named “Charles Bridge” (on the initiative of K. H. Borovský). Until then, the bridge was called Prague Bridge or Stone Bridge.
