Vanilla Sky starts off somewhat strong, but by the third act it dissolves into a sci-fi mess utilizing advanced technology to offer a twist that the viewer doesn't see coming.

It provides a lot to think about, some very touching scenes — both as singular scenes and in the context of the entire film — and some oddly comedic moments, as long as you’re okay with some dark humor.
