Jan 30, 2023 · Madras Municipal Airport, located in Madras, Oregon, USA, has a rich history. The airport was originally established in the late 1930s and was then known as the Madras Airport. In 1942, the United States Army Air Corps took over the airport and renamed it the Madras Army Airfield.
Madras was incorporated as a city in 1911. An Army Air Corps base was built nearby during World War II. This airfield now serves as the Madras Municipal Airport. Homesteads approximately 5 miles (8 km) north of the city on Agency Plains were based on dryland wheat. GMO incident.
