A map made by Peter Lindstrom circa 1655 shows Swedish settlements on the Delaware (see Garrison, Lindstrom). The original map was apparently destroyed by fire but a manuscript copy is in the Royal Archives of Sweden and an engraving of the original was made in 1696.
