Jul 30, 2020 · Several of our parishioners have let us know that they cannot wear masks because of their health; one woman has asthma attacks and cannot breathe with a mask on, another gets severely claustrophobic and cannot wear one for an extended period of time, such as the length of a Mass.
Mass now included social distancing, scrupulous sanitizing and above all, mask wearing—by both people and priest. I was struck by the photos of priests and deacons distributing communion wearing masks. Most donned the blue surgical masks we’re now accustomed to seeing. Others opted for the construction-type dust masks.
