Property tax payments can only be accepted from July 1st through February 28th of the following year. Any delinquencies are transferred to the Wayne County Treasurer in March every year.

  5. Summer tax bills are mailed out the first week of July each year and are due by October 1. Starting October 2 until February 28, a 1/2% per month penalty is added. Winter tax bills are mailed out the first week of December and are due by February 14. On February 15 a one-time 3% penalty is added to unpaid winter taxes.

  6. Beginning February 15, 2022, a 3% late payment penalty will be added to unpaid tax bills. Payment will be accepted at the City through February 28, 2022. Beginning March 1, 2022, TAXES ON REAL PROPERTY ONLY for the July and December tax billings can be paid only to the Wayne County Treasurer.
