I have the first two Mark-Almond LPs (released in 1971 & 1972, respectively), and the first pressings were on the Blue Thumb label, but, IIRC, later pressings were on ABC/Blue Thumb..
Late in 1974, the Famous Music record labels were sold to ABC Records. ABC kept Blue Thumb active for a time, mostly for albums by the Pointer Sisters and the Crusaders as well as some reissues. In 1979 ABC sold its labels to MCA Records, which discontinued the Blue Thumb imprint altogether.

Apr 16, 2020 · Blue Thumb’s first release was a collection of audio snippets from W.C. Fields movies. The first artist signed was Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band. (Beefheart, in fact, coined the name Blue Thumb; according to Krasnow, it was to be the name of a new Beefheart blues band, but Krasnow “borrowed” it for his label.)
ABC Records was an American record label founded in New York City in 1955. It originated as the main popular music label operated by the Am-Par Record Corporation. Am-Par also created the Impulse! jazz label in 1960. It acquired many labels before ABC was sold to MCA Records in 1979.

ABC Records eventually acquired Blue Thumb Records in the late 1970s When ABC was sold to MCA Records in 1979, Blue Thumb Records was shutdown. Blue Thumb Records was revived in 1995. The label lasted another 10 years until Verve started to replace the Blue Thumb label with Verve Forecast.
Blue Thumb continued to be used as an imprint on some ABC releases (mainly for albums by The Crusaders and the Pointer Sisters) until late 1978 when MCA Records bought ABC Records and folded it and all of its affiliated labels a year later.
