After Lewis Rudd’s family moved from Texas to Seattle, they decided they wanted to share the chicken they enjoyed back home with the Pacific Northwest. They opened the first location of Ezell’s Famous Chicken in 1984, and now have fifteen locations.
The investment required to open a Ezell's Chicken Franchise is between $400,000-$600,000. There is an initial franchise fee of $20,000 which grants you the license to run a business under the Ezell's Chicken name.
Location - right by 90E exit, by the AMC theatre, plenty of parking space; quite a busy place at 530PM on the Saturday. Food - crispy, juicy dark meat pieces; spicy is not that spicy and better seasoned than the original; the batters aren't too thick and not fluffy enough when compared with the Korean fried chicken.

(Raising Up Black Businesses) Initiative, introduced in 2021 by Ezell’s Famous Chicken owners and siblings Lewis and Darnell Rudd and Faye Stephens. The goal of the R.U.B.B. Initiative is to support Black-owned businesses and foster equity in the community.
