Ukrainian. v. t. e. Johannes Kleiman (17 August 1896 – 28 January 1959) was one of the Dutch residents who helped hide Anne Frank and her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. In the published version of Frank's diary, Het Achterhuis, known in English as The Diary of a Young Girl, he is given the pseudonym Mr. Koophuis.

Johannes Kleiman was born on 17 August 1896 as the son of Cornelis Kleiman and Emmetje Vink. [1] He was the third of four children. He had two brothers, Cornelis (Cor) and Willem Jacobus (Willy), and a sister, Agatha, who died young. In 1896, the Kleiman family lived at Domineespad, now called Zuiderkerkstraat, in Koog aan de Zaan.
