In December 2016, Studio Ponoc unveiled the first teaser of Mary and the Witch's Flower. The release date was set for July 8, 2017. In January 2017, Hayao Miyazaki visited Ponoc's offices to see his former collaborators, who have dubbed the studio as the "next generation of Ghibli".

Jul 8, 2017 · Though originally released mid 2017 in Japan, Mary and the Witch's Flower only reached Australia on the 18th of January with dubs and subs both available. Quality As to be expected from former Ghibli staff, the production quality is excellent.
