Karlsruhe (/ ˈ k ɑːr l z r uː ə /, US also / ˈ k ɑːr l s-/, German: [ˈkaʁlsˌʁuːə] (); South Franconian: Kallsruh; formerly spelled Carlsruhe) is the second-largest city of the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg after its capital of Stuttgart, and its 313,092 inhabitants make it the 21st largest city of Germany.
Thomas is chief geophysicist of Amisia GeoConsultants. He studied geophysics at Karlsruhe University in Germany, where he also made his doctoral thesis (Ph.D.). Fritz Haber left Germany in 1933 and lived in France, Spain, and Switzerland. At the time, he had poor health and suffered a heart attack. He was offered the director’s position at Sieff Research Institute in Rehovot, Palestine, which he accepted. However, his poor health declined severely, and Haber died on January 29, 1934.
