Jun 15, 2012 · Ian’s father taught Primary 7 at Greenock Academy until 1951. Ian was a pupil there from 1946 till 1959 (in the Nelson Street building) in both primary and secondary departments. He was Head Boy of the school in session 1958-59.
Dec 6, 2019 · TRIBUTE has been paid following the death of Ian McCrorie who was much-loved and highly-regarded in many aspects of life in Inverclyde including education, music, Clyde ferries and steamers and the church.
Ian McCrorie is now established as the conductor of the annual CLIC Sargent Carol Concert in Glasgow, with soloists such as Nicola Benedetti and Julian Lloyd Webber. He has been an organist for almost fifty years, has served on various church committees (including CH4) and has made several CDs of hymns and psalms.
