Jun 15, 2012 · Ian’s father taught Primary 7 at Greenock Academy until 1951. Ian was a pupil there from 1946 till 1959 (in the Nelson Street building) in both primary and secondary departments. He was Head Boy of the school in session 1958-59.

Dec 21, 2019 · Ian Mccrorie was born in Greenock in 1941 on the night of the Greenock blitz. His father, also a teacher at Greenock Academy, recognised his son’s early enthusiasm for music and despatched him to piano lessons at the tender age of four.
