Ian McCrorie, who died on Thursday 5 December 2019 aged 78, was the most charismatic and inspiring individual in CRSC’s long history — but his interests and gifts went far beyond shipping.

Dec 6, 2019 · TRIBUTE has been paid following the death of Ian McCrorie who was much-loved and highly-regarded in many aspects of life in Inverclyde including education, music, Clyde ferries and steamers and the church. Mr McCrorie, who taught chemistry and was assistant rector at Greenock Academy, was 78 years old and lived in Greenock all his life.

Jun 15, 2012 · Ian was born in Union Street,Greenock, on 6 May 1941, the night of the Greenock Blitz. He has lived all his life in Greenock where his contribution to the community is much to be admired. Ian’s father taught Primary 7 at Greenock Academy until 1951.
