It was nearly 35 years ago when Brown arrived in Chapel Hill from Tulane to replace Dick Crum. Brown enjoyed a successful first stint piloting the Tar Heels, going 69-46-1 in 10 seasons from 1988 through 1997.
Mack Brown was inducted into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018. He is the 22nd Longhorn all-time to be selected, joining Dana X. Bible and Darrell Royal as Texas head coaches to have been inducted. Brown was the head coach of the Texas Longhorns for 16 seasons.
