3) From the Map Views fly-out menu (upper right), export the Box layer as a shapefile. QGIS. 4) Launch QGIS. Drag the exported Box shapefile into the Map View. Alternatively, you can add it via the Menu Bar: Layer/Add Layer/Add Vector Layer. 5) In the Browser panel, right-click on XYZ Tiles to open a new connection.
Mar 13, 2019 · In a stand-alone/external PyQGIS app that I'm developing I've noticed that wms/xyz tiles that are returned as jpegs don't render on the map canvas but those that return pngs do.

Jun 18, 2019 · An XYZ tile service provides tiles based on a URL template with values substituted in for Zoom Level and X and Y counts of the tile. They are (usually) limited to a fixed projection (usually EPSG:3857). A WMS provides an image of the map using a set of key value pairs (KVP) to specify which layers, styles, projection and size to use.
