Name of Beach and Location: Hendry's Beach (Arroyo Burro Beach) Santa Barbara, CA. Went out January 4th at 3:00 pm. Very Low Tide. Without trying hard, I found about 50 pieces in 1 hour. Most are small, clear/green/brown. Standard colors.
- Glass Beach, Fort Bragg. Glass Beach at Fort Bragg is at the top of most sea glass hunter's list of beaches to visit. It's not the easiest place to get to, but well worth the effort and has a fascinating history.
- Davenport. Whereas Glass Beach is famous for lots of sea glass, Davenport - just north of Santa Cruz - has a firm policy of quality over quantity. In fact, the sea glass from this beach may be some of the very best in the world.
- La Jolla, San Diego. La Jolla is the best sea glass beach I've found in Southern California. It's a busy place and parking can be pretty tough going, but you will find lots of beach treasure.
- Capistrano Beach, Dana Point. Capistrano Beach Park - known locally as "Capo Beach" - is between Dana Point and San Clemente, to the south of Doheny State Beach.
Fort Bragg Glass Beach. Location: Mendocino County. Located just south of MacKerricher State Park is the famous Glass Beach, with the highest concentration of sea glass in the state. Please note: it is forbidden to remove anything from the beach. Explore the surrounding tide pools that are teeming with life.
