This is by no means close to Scranton, but I had to include it! Before we got to see the real-life “The Office” locales, we stopped by the set for a quick photo while we were visiting LA.
Aug 1, 2022 · Though ‘The Office’ is set in the fictional Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania, it was mostly filmed in Los Angeles, California, particularly in the Van Nuys district. But it does use of some footage from Scranton, and makes many references to actual places in the area.

- The Marketplace at Steamtown. Begin your Scranton tour at the Steamtown Mall, which was the setting for several memorable scenes throughout the series, including the season 3 episode “Women’s Appreciation,” when Michael Scott takes the ladies of Dunder Mifflin on a shopping outing that features relationship discussions shared over a meal in the food court.
- Cooper’s Seafood House. Fans of The Office are sure to prioritize a meal at Cooper’s Seafood House, which was a favorite dining spot throughout the series.
- Dwight Schrute Mural at On&On. Whether you love Dwight Schrute or love to hate him, be sure to check out the larger-than-life mural of his likeness in downtown Scranton.
- Pennsylvania Paper & Supply Company. While you won’t find the Dunder Mifflin office building in Scranton, you will find the real-life paper company featured in the series’ opening credits.
- Jim & Pam’s House. Address: 13831 Calvert Street, Van Nuys. Personally, if my husband bought me a house with a permanent creepy clown painting without asking me, I wouldn’t be too thrilled.
- Poor Richards Pub. Address: 21010 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills. Poor Richards – aka Pickwick’s Pub in real life – is a divey little Packers bar (much to my delight, as I originally hail from Wisconsin.)
- Phyllis and Bob Vance’s Wedding Church. Address: 4390 Colfax Ave, North Hollywood. Phyllis and Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, got married at the First Christin Church of North Hollywood.
- Steamtown Mall. Address: 14006 Riverside Dr, Sherman Oaks. The Steamtown Mall actually a Westfield Fashion Square Mall, but if you’re mega fans like yours truly, you can still find the places they filmed inside.

It's a grey-looking building with different companies on alternating floors. In real life, the cast filmed inside Chandler Valley Center Studios in Panorama City, California.
Scranton is situated in Lackawanna County — in northeastern Pennsylvania. I knew before I visited Scranton that the office building (said to be located at the fictional 1725 Slough Avenue) and the office park are actually located in Los Angeles, where most of the taping is done.
