- World of Warcraft. Since World of Warcraft launched in 2004, the MMORPG has seen its fair share of boss battles, with its raid bosses standing out as particularly iconic.
- Shadow of the Colossus. There are many games on this list that are built entirely around their boss battles, but few of those fights have as much emotional weight as the encounters against the colossi in Shadow of the Colossus.
- Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! Since the entirety of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! is built around its boss battles, it makes sense that a lot of care clearly went into making these fights something special.
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The Metal Gear Solid games are known for their complicated plots and exciting stealth-action gameplay, as well as their iconic boss battles.

- Psycho Mantis (Metal Gear Solid) By far the most imaginative boss on this list, Psycho Mantis seems impossible in the first Metal Gear Solid. He appears after having taken control of your companion Meryl and almost having you kill her, and then he starts to mess with your mind.
- Mike Tyson (Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!) Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! is not an easy game, but it isn’t until the very last fight that you begin to know real pain.

But with there being so many, how do we know which ones are the best? It's all a matter of opinion, with that said this is my list for the 100 best boss fights of all time.
