Prometheus showed potential to explore new things in the Alien universe. Phenomenons bigger than the xenomorphs or us. Covenant basically threw it away by abandoning Shaw's story (along with the Engineers) and instead giving us a cheap scifi slasher that only helps butcher the mystery around the xenos. Just disappointing as hell.
