History. Evans Diamond, home of the Cal baseball team since 1933, honors legendary coach Clint Evans, who served as the Bears' head coach from 1930-54. The picturesque field features natural grass and seating for 2,500.
Clint Evans is the winningest and most successful baseball coach in UCB Golden Bear history (.681 winning %--547-256) including nine CIBA conference titles (six outright) and a National championship. Only one year during his 25-year tenure as head baseball coach, 1944, did the Bears suffer a losing season (9-14).
George Wolfman (February 21, 1911 – May 25, 1983) was an American college baseball coach who led the California Golden Bears baseball team from 1955 through 1973, including the Bears' second national championship in the 1957 College World Series.
