Synopsis. Tang Monk brings three disciples on a journey to the West. On the outside, everything seems harmonious. However, tension is present beneath the surface, and their hearts and minds are not in agreement. After a series of demon-capturing events, the monk and his disciples gain mutual understanding of each others' hardships and unease.

Tang continues his journey to the West with Monkey King, Sandy and Pigsy. They encounter and flight with many demons during their treacherous journey.
The film is a sequel to the 2013 film, Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons, which was directed, written, and produced by Chow. It was released in China by Lianrui Pictures on January 28, 2017 in MX4D, 4DX, IMAX 3D and 3D. The monk Tang Sanzang (Kris Wu) finds himself as a giant in a city in India.
