Angel Fernández is a supporting character and one of Tony's closest friends in Scarface.
Arrival in the U.S.
After arriving in the United States from Cuba, Angel, Tony, and the others were held by the U.S. Government for illegally migrating to the United States and were subsequently sent to the detention center Freedomtown. He and the others later each received green card, courtesy of Frank Lopez after Tony and Manny succeeded in killing Emilio Rebenga.
A Deal Gone Wrong
He later participated in the drug deal with the Colombians, but during the unsuccessful deal, Angel was murdered due to Montana's failure to co-operate with the Cartel drug dealers. Manny and Chi-Chi waited in the car as Tony and Angel made the exchange. However, Hector began to frustrate Tony by trying to fast-talk him instead of getting to the deal. Angel started to move in when he saw the deal turning sour, but was grabbed by two more Colombian thugs. Tony was held at gunpoint by Hector's associate, Marta, and both of them were taken in the bathroom to be killed. Angel was dismembered by a chainsaw and was killed. Tony later got revenge for his friend's death by shooting Hector, the Colombian coke dealer who butchered Angel to death with the chainsaw, in the street.

Angel Fernandez. Angel Fernandez is one of Tony's closest friends, besides Chi-Chi and Manny. Angel had been close with them since before the Mariel Boatlift. They had all served in the Cuban army together. He had helped Tony and Manny kill Emilio Rebenga.
Tony and Angel are taken at gunpoint; Tony is made to watch as Angel is dismembered with a chainsaw, before Manny and Chi-Chi rescue him. They kill three of the dealers and personally deliver the recovered drugs and money to Frank, suspecting that Omar set them up.
