Oct 30, 2017 · Grace Slick had been earmarked to join Jefferson Airplane in 1966 as the replacement for the band’s original female singer, Signe Anderson, who had just given birth to daughter Lilith. The former model’s foghorn vocals, enormous charisma and drop-dead beauty aside, Slick gave the Airplane their biggest hit songs.
She was a prominent figure in San Francisco 's psychedelic music scene during the mid-1960s to the early 1970s. Initially performing with the Great Society, Slick achieved fame as the lead singer and frontwoman of Jefferson Airplane and the subsequent spinoff bands Jefferson Starship and Starship.

It was built from the ground up, and is an outstanding small air museum. the aircraft restorations are first rate, and the museum has an extensive educational component that works with at-risk kids.
