  1. Born around 1354 into the ruling family of Milan, Virida Visconti was one of seven children of Bernabo Visconti and Beatrice della Scala. She became duchess of Austria on her marriage about age 14 to the Austrian prince Leopold von Habsburg (later Leopold III), also 14.
