    In common with most vintage comic book series, after #20 the value of Silver Age Uncanny X-Men comics falls off sharply. Anything in top comic gradesis worth serious money: certainly hundreds, and occasionally a few thousand dollars. However, there are plenty of later X-Men comics that are worth much more than average.

    • X-Men 129 – $550. Hands down, the most expensive X-Men comic of the 1980s is the first one. While it actually hit stands in late 1979, 1980 appears in the indicia.
    • Avengers Annual 11 – $239. It may seem odd to see an issue of Avengers on an X-Men list, but this issue not only has an appearance by the X-Men, but it's the first appearance of one of the team's more popular members.
