yeah Louisiana & Alaska are the only states that don’t normally refer to their counties as “counties”. Louisiana is perishes and Alaska is boroughs if I’m not mistaken. While they are essentially the same as counties, they have slightly different histories as to why they’re referred to as such and how they’re run.
