3 Answers. Sorted by: 16. +100. OK I'm finally getting around to answering this question. Unfortunately I'm limited on time so this is a summary of the Orthodox position. First of all, Orthodoxy's entire anthropology differs from Western Christianity (no original guilt/concupiscence).
The Eastern Orthodox Church does not make a distinction between theology and worship, since the words of prayer are an expression of the apophatic knowledge of God, a knowledge that cannot be expressed in words in isolation from the experience of worship.

The Orthodox Church is the original church started by Jesus Christ and his apostles. For the early years of the church, much of what was conveyed to its members was in the form of oral teachings. Within a very short period of time traditions were established to reinforce these teachings.
