Oct 29, 2023 · The movie was shot in black and white by Ellis W. Carter. The Lone Pine vistas look absolutely majestic. Kino Lorber’s Blu-ray print looks and sounds very good. The lone extras for this film are a newly mastered trailer as well as trailers for three additional Murphy films available from Kino Lorber.
This Universal International Release was filmed in black & white rather than color to conserve on costs. Clearly, producer Gordon Kay must have been obsessed with the bottom line to shoot a sagebrusher in color in 1963.
