The Hofburg (German: [hoːf.buʁk]) is the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty in Austria. Located in the centre of Vienna, it was built in the 13th century and expanded several times afterwards. It also served as the imperial winter residence, as Schönbrunn Palace was the summer residence.

A brief history. The Hofburg. Until 1918 the extensive palatial complex at the heart of Vienna was the political centre of the monarchy. Today it fulfils the same role for the democratic Republic of Austria.
Admission tickets to the Hofburg. The entrance ticket to the Hofburg gives you access to the imperial flats, the Sisi Museum and the Silver Museum.
